We woke to pouring rain, and a day of waiting for the
windscreen replacement guy to arrive. Given that it was pouring we decided to
stay indoors. We got our MiFi device working and got on the internet (YAY) and
Ros did some work for her business, we blogged and surfed while we waited. At
4pm the guy finally showed up. The windscreen replacement was fairly quick, but
we had to wait half an hour for the glue to set before we could take off.
Finally on the road around 5.15 with a quick stop for
groceries and a Starbucks traveller. It was absolutely pelting down rain, the
car park was a river. It was a slow trip up the I5 in peak hour traffic. When
you get into Seattle centre, the I5 goes under buildings – they have been built
over the road to maximise real estate. The rain had eased off to showers by
that point so Ros got some pics of the Seattle skyline. More of those 8 lane
highways.
Finally made it to Lakeside RV park for the night – it is
cheaper than camping in a State Park and has facilities (we need to do the
laundry…) We are going to the Boeing factory tomorrow for a tour of the museum,
the factory and the “future of flight” display. We also need some spare parts
for the RV, then we will be heading east out of the city.
