Well, that was a change! We went from consistently waking up at around 4.30 am to not waking up until 11. Just on 12 hours sleep – we must have really needed it.
We had a leisurely breakfast then got the scooter out for a ride into Savannah. It took about half an hour to get in. We parked up at the visitors centre, looked at brochures and booked a 2-day hop on hop off bus pass, plus tickets to the Prohibition Museum.
We went for a wander around the historic district. Lots to see. We stopped in at a French macaron café to sample the wares, and checked out some of the shops.
We decided to head back to the RV park around 5. Big mistake. The traffic was awful and the ride home took an hour and a half with stop-start most of the way. We also got a parking ticket that we intend to contest as we have the receipt showing that we still had time left on the meter.
Home and trying out the washer and dryer in the RV. Soooo nice not to have to go to the laundry with piles of quarters!
