We dropped the RV in to have the brakes looked at and then
took the scooter back into town to while away the time. They apparently needed
it for the whole day as the brakes front and back needed complete
overhauling. We amused ourselves by
looking in various shops, took a scenic drive around the local college and had
sushi for lunch. Afterwards we found a winery cellar door along the main street
and partook of a tasting… or two…or three.
They also produced fruit wines that were quite nice.
We sat at the Diamond Belle, a saloon bar in the Strater
Hotel. Its very wild west, with the waitresses dressed up in old time saloon
gal outfits. Noticed a few
cowboys/farm-folk in their nicest gear, gallon hats an all. There is a big
cowboy muster here in Durango in a couple of days.
After finding out that the RV wouldn’t be ready until 6 we
had a bit more sushi for dinner then went out to pick up the ole girl and head
back to camp. On arriving back we noticed an A class (Big bus) RV with a TV on
the outside. It has a lift up flap and the people were sitting around in deck
chairs outside watching something.
